Our Mission:
To enhance the education of our
children by promoting the connection
between home, school, and the community.

Whether you are a parent, student, school staff member or community member, this P.T.O. is yours. We all work together "to enhance the education of our children by promoting the connection between home, school and the community." You are invited to participate, as much as possible, in the variety of fund raising, promotional programs, and special events that are held throughout the school year. With your help, the P.T.O. provided over $20,000 in programs and communication services during the 2007-2008 school year and distributed an additional $77,000 to the district schools to fund hundreds of educational 'extras' at the school level. So, join in the fun, and watch the amazing things we can do when we work together!

Mark your calendars for the upcoming Spring Scholastic Book Fairs!

Hawthorn PTO is proud to sponsor the annual Scholastic book fairs at all six district schools at the end of January and the beginning of February 2009. Please check the calendar to find out when the book fair will be at your child’s school . Your child will visit the book fair with his/her classroom during the school day. Elementary age students will bring home a wish list of books after previewing the book fair. Middle School students may purchase books when they visit the book fair as well as before/after school and during all lunch periods. Parents are welcome to visit the book fair any time throughout the day. Parents, if you have a few hours to spare during the day, would you consider volunteering at one of the fairs? We could always use some extra hands, especially helping the younger children fill out their forms. Hope to see you there! For more information, please visit the Book Fair committee page.

Target Visa

If you have a Target® Visa or are interested in one, be sure to enroll in the "Take Charge of Education" program so the Hawthorn PTO will receive a cash donation equal to 1% of purchases made at Target and 1/2% of purchases made everywhere else. More»

Notice - PTO Payments

To help the PTO process payments efficiently, please try to put the following on all checks: A phone number near your name, the child's name in the memo area, and if possible, the reason for the payment (i.e. "School Supplies", "Market Day"). This will help us associate payments with the correct fund-raiser and allow us to contact you if something goes amiss.
